The Business Exchange
Bringing local businesses together to find opportunities to work with each other.
This is a daytime event designed to bring local businesses together in one space to better understand what each other does, and where there might be opportunities to work together, refer, or collaborate.
What it is
A room full of local businesses, all there for the same reason: to connect, have conversations, and explore ways of working more locally.
What it isn’t
This is not a market or a selling event.
There won’t be customers browsing or buying on the day, and it’s not about promoting products or services in a sales-focused way.
It’s also not traditional networking, so no pitches, no pressure, no awkward formats.
How it works
There are two ways to be part of the day:
Table / Stall (per business): Includes a 1.5m table space and entry for up to two people from the same business. Your table acts as a base for the event - somewhere to share what you do - but the focus is on moving around, meeting others, and having conversations rather than staying behind your table.
Attendee (per business): Includes entry for up to two people from the same business.
If you don’t need a table but still want to be part of it, you’re very welcome to come along and bring flyers or information about what you do, but there won’t be a table or base with this ticket - it’s more about moving around and connecting with others.
On the day
Expect a relaxed, informal space where:
– People move around and talk
– Businesses get a better understanding of what’s available locally
– New connections and opportunities naturally come out of conversations

PRICE: £15 per table (includes 2 attendees) | £5 per attendee (up to 2 from same business)
The Social Collective
The Social Collective is a relaxed evening bringing together the people behind HD8's businesses, community groups and creative projects.
It's not about sales pitches or awkward networking, it's about putting faces to names, hearing local stories and making connections that last long after the evening itself.
Some people come looking for collaborators, some come for fresh ideas, others simply want to spend an evening with people who understand the joys and challenges of running a business, leading a community project or building something from scratch.
Each Social Collective includes:

A welcome drink on arrival

A short conversation with a local guest speaker

Time to chat, share ideas and get to know people
You never know who you'll meet, but chances are you'll leave knowing a few more faces than when you arrived.
Come on your own, bring a friend or turn up with colleagues. We'd love to see you there.
