Hello. I'm Erin

I'm the founder of, and creative heart behind, HD8 Life CIC.

I launched this little community-driven adventure to help showcase the brilliant businesses, groups, events and creatives tucked away in the HD8 postcode area of Yorkshire.

What started as a passion project on Instagram is growing into something truly special: a hub for connection, collaboration, and celebrating local HD8 life.

I wear a lot of hats here – from filming reels and running social media, to organising workshops, and dreaming up new ways to support our community. I believe in keeping things real, good vibes only, and making marketing feel a little less scary (and minus the mega price tag).

I have a background in theatre, business, administration and marketing.  I previously ran Whistlestop Valley in Clayton West/Shelley, so have first-hand experience and knowledge of the ups and downs of running a small business in HD8 in particular.

When I’m not out meeting makers, creators, and trailblazers, you’ll probably find me with a hot chocolate in hand (or, even better, a chocolate milkshake), planning the next big idea, running around after my three children, or putting gigs and events on with later@ – a brilliant small team bringing live music, literature and culture to intimate venues in Lancashire (and maybe one day, HD8 too!).

Although I’m not originally from HD8, I’ve got strong roots here. I grew up in S70 and S75, moved to London, Brighton, Estonia, the USA and Singapore, before returning to Yorkshire – first to S36, then a hop over Royd Moor into HD8 in 2016.

And even as a kid, I was often in a soggy HD8 field, clapping the Denby Dale Travellers over the finish line at local races (my mum was a DDT!) – so HD8’s always had a place in my heart.

I’m the Marketing Manager for Ninja Coffee Company in Rossendale – despite not drinking coffee or tea (I know, shocker!). But what I lack in caffeine, I make up for in enthusiasm, storytelling, and a genuine love for helping others shine.

I’m all about community over competition and love nothing more than seeing our community thrive together as one.  If we haven’t met yet, I’d love to connect – drop me a message anytime or stop me in the street if you see me out and about.
